“Tantra tells us that our original nature is pure awareness and unbroken joy. When we rest in our own heart, our own core of consciousness in meditation, we re-experience that original feeling of pure presence and being. Meditation is one way human beings enact the original self-reflection of God or Goddess. The Tantric sages tell us that our in-breath and our out-breath actually mirror the divine creative gesture. With the inhalation, we draw into our own center, our own being. With the exhalation, we expand outward into the world. Only by withdrawing into the center does the Shakti get the power to manifest a world. In the same way, it is by withdrawing into our own being—through meditation or deep sleep—that we access the power with which we manifest creatively in our own life.”
