This poem came to my inbox today from my good friend Tim Lynch, the kind of email that inspires you for the rest of the day. In the subject heading of the email, Tim wrote: “best line in a poem maybe ever.” And I think I might have to agree with him? How about you?
Walking by flashlight
at six in the morning,
my circle of light on the gravel
swinging side to side,
coyote, raccoon, field mouse, sparrow,
each watching from darkness
this man with the moon on a leash.
